I have four children: Alexis is 14, Mercedes is 8, Dominic is 4 and Ashlyn is 2. I had Alexis when I was only 14 myself; I have struggled to instill values and decison making skills in her with hope that she won't make the same mistakes that I did. Not that she's a mistake! I owe most all my acomplishments to her and I thank God for her everyday! I am a devoted Christian; My faith is my wheelchair: when I am weak it carries me and when I am strong I can carry the weak with it; I love to learn and grow; I am always searching for the truth; I am working on a Bachelor of Arts degree; my major is Communications. I haven't chosen my minor yet. I am considering Political Science or Economics. I can admit when I am wrong, but I won't back down when I am right. My ultimate goal is to do whatever God calls me to do: specifically to help other teen parents succeed. I try to contribute significantly to organizations such as Parent Pathways and I volunteer at Florence Crittenton School for teen mothers. I hope to open my own charity in the future. Above all, I strive for compassion as opposed to superiority, inspiration as opposed to pity and diligency as opposed to despair.
